Donald Duck decides to stand outside in his yard with his notepad and a pencil so he can make a few observations about how nature works. He stands northeast from his house to get a good view of nature. He looks up at his chimney with the smoke coming out of it. he then states his first observation; "The chimney is letting out all the Carbon Dioxide." He jots it down on his notepad. Then, he looks down at the grass on his lawn. He notices something about the grass. "The grass is taking in all the carbon dioxide and giving out all the oxygen so we can breathe, just like trees do." he states, then writes his second observation on his notepad. Next, he looks up at the hot sun. He tries to think about what the sun does for us. He thinks harder and harder. "Oh yeah!" he says, "The sun gives us energy so we can motivate, gives off heat, and gives us light during the day." He then writes the third observation down on his notepad. He takes a deep breath in and out. Then he notices something… He concentrates on his breathing. He makes his last observation, "When we breathe, we inhale oxygen and exhale the carbon dioxide so we don't get sick. That's why its bad to hold your breath. When you hold your breath, all the carbon dioxide is trapped inside you." He writes down his last observation. Donald learned a lot from observing the nature around him.
